DIRECTOR'S BLOG - find out what happened each week!
MAR 16 - It was so wonderful to have the whole group back together. We ran through the whole show today and Lauren and I were so impressed by their hard work. Next week, all of the lines need to be memorized by our actors. AND next week, we will get to work with costumes and the set. We can't wait for you to join us down by the farm. MAR 9 - The Waterlilies and Monets always show up ready to work! What fun characters they are becoming and we are so excited to put them all back together to see this play come to life! Thank you to all the students - who we can see work hard to be ready for each week. MAR 2 - The Van Goghs and Sunflowers worked really hard in rehearsal today, getting everything ready for what they will need in their full rehearsal starting MAR 16. It is exciting to see what they have worked on during their own time and the ability to get to really find cool characters within this play has been a dream. FEB 16 - It was a great rehearsal with the Monets and Waterlilies! This group also came ready to work and we feel really confident about all the work we've been able to do. The actors worked on the first half of the show and were able to take home the next group of scenes to begin memorizing during the February break. Those scenes will be available on this website as well. We are very excited for our show and looking forward to seeing the Sunflowers and VanGoghs after break! Have a great week off. FEB 9 - Today, we worked with the Van Goghs and Sunflowers! All the students came in ready to work and we are so happy with everything we were able to accomplish. These students should begin memorizing their lines and working on their music with the tracks we have on this site. We will see the Waterlilies and Monets next! FEB 2 - What a great group of students! We worked on so much of the material for our play and have a great sense of what our story is. They have learned the opening and closing song for our play and their voices rang through the halls of Downey - making many people in the hallway smile. I can't wait for you to see the magic we are making. On this page - you will now find all the material they need to know as well as our stellar cast list. Congratulations students! You are each a very important part of this play! JAN 19 - We started the rehearsal with a few warm-up and focus games and talked a little about what our show entails. The students had the opportunity to read through a monologue in different character types, sing an original song, and even learn a fun dance that we will incorporate into our show. They all worked very hard and we were so impressed at their ability to dive fully into this new material. |

STUDENT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
Kidstock! requires as part of the registration process that both the participating student and the parent agree to a Participation Agreement (see below) that outlines appropriate behavior and acknowledges the commitment to rehearsals. Students who fail to meet the standards outlined in this agreement will unfortunately be excused from their participation with no refund.
STUDENT/PARENT CONTRACT I understand that being onstage in a show is a team experience that involves making the commitment to be present at rehearsal, be prepared, and be respectful of the process and my fellow cast mates. If I am absent, unprepared or disrespectful it will have consequences not only on my ability to participate fully in the role I was cast but also on the efforts and commitment of my fellow cast mates. Being on a team means everyone is important! |
“I can’t thank you enough for the amazing talent and enthusiasm you shared with my child, and indeed that you share with the kids in all your programs. You all created a magical environment in which the kids worked hard, learned a lot, and had fun. We are so fortunate to benefit from the great work you do!” - Jill G, Parent of Cast Member
